Description

Using shale ore, coal, and water-based drilling chips as raw materials When utilizing this LCA dataset, users should adhere to the cut-off rule as defined by the functional unit of 1 ton of WDC, excluding low-value materials from upstream processes accounting for less than 1% of the final product's weight, such as fly ash, from the inventory. This guideline is essential for maintaining consistency with the dataset and ensuring the accuracy of the life cycle assessment. Users should apply this data within the context of the specific environmental goals of the project, and keep in mind the technological applicability described, ensuring appropriate methodological adherence for raw material preparation, mixing, pressing, drying, and sintering stages.

Technology

WDC(water-based drilling cuttings) were used as a replacement for natural clay to prepare sintered bricks. The water content of the WDC can be reduced from 80% to 20% through press filter pretreatment, which can meet the requirements of external delivery for recycling. The remaining water in the WDC can be used directly to make bricks (240 mm × 115 mm × 53 mm) to reduce the consumption of water resources. The entire production process includes raw material preparation, mixing, pressing, drying and sintering (temperature of 800–1000 °C; time for 1-4 h)
