The Chongqing Xiaonanhai Cement Plant uses a dry rotary kiln production process to produce ordinary portland cement. The raw materials used in the production of ordinary portland cement at the Chongqing Xiaonanhai Cement Plant are limestone, clay, iron ore, and gypsum. The consumption of raw materials per ton of ordinary portland cement is 0.615 tons of limestone, 0.283 tons of clay, 0.213 tons of iron ore, and 0.286 tons of gypsum, without considering the utilization of industrial waste. While using the LCI data from Chongqing Xiaonanhai Cement Plant, ensure to include the accumulative process data for both raw material extraction and cement manufacturing within the system boundaries. The system boundaries begin from raw material extraction and end at the manufacturing of the cement itself. When modeling the use phase or conducting further analysis, consider that the functional unit represents the amount of ordinary portland cement necessary for 1 m3 of standard concrete mix. The standard mix ratio includes 365 kg of cement, 601.2 kg of sand, and 1378.9 kg of aggregate. Recycling or the utilization of industrial by-products should not be considered in this LCI as the dataset does not account for such processes.
