The impact of a typical traditional vertical kiln process on the resource consumption, energy consumption and environmental emissions involved in the cement production life cycle was quantified using 1t of ordinary silicate cement as a functional unit. When utilizing this LCA data for Ordinary Portland Cement produced by traditional shaft kiln, pay careful attention to the system boundary defined in the scope of the study which includes direct environmental impacts of the production process and indirect impacts from upstream activities such as raw material mining and transportation. Consider geographical and technological applicability when applying this data to specific projects, particularly with regard to emissions data, as they are based on Chinese national statistics and may not be representative for other regions or technological advancements. Additionally, for evaluating scenarios with different transportation distances or modes, separate calculations should be conducted to ensure accuracy.
