Shaft kiln is used for the production of portland cement. A study was conducted on the process flow and operating parameters of the rotary kiln technology currently available in the cement industry in Heilongjiang Province, and input and output data of the established product system were collected and calculated and quantified. When utilizing this data set, LCA practitioners should base their analysis on the functional unit of 1kg of cement with a 28-day compressive strength of 42.5MPa. Users should include emissions such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and dust in their impact assessment. The environmental impact of clay resource consumption and iron powder used as a corrective material should be omitted from the analysis at this stage. The methodological boundary includes raw meal preparation, clinker calcination, and cement production, and users should carefully consider the technological applicability of the shaft kiln which is specific to this regional industry.
