Description

Referring to the PAS2050 standard and using life cycle assessment methods, the carbon footprint of rice production in Shanghai was assessed. Users should apply this data within the boundaries of agricultural product production and crop production systems as outlined by the PAS2050 specification and LCA methods. Note that this data does not account for stages beyond the crop planting process, such as sales, consumer usage, disposal, and recycling. When utilizing this data, ensure that any additional environmental impacts related to these subsequent stages are assessed separately if required for the study's scope.

Technology

The carbon footprint of rice production was calculated with reference to PAS2050 specification and LCA method. PAS2050 stands for "Publicly Available Specification" (PAS), compiled by the British Standard Institution (BSI). It aims to make clear requirements for the evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions during the life cycle of products and services
