Description

Reference product: liquid manure spreading, by vacuum tanker [m3]
Location: CA-QC - Canada, Québec
This dataset represents the service of mixing and then pumping 1 m3 liquid slurry (1 t) from farm pit into tanker (average capacity 24.7 m3), and spreading the slurry onto field (low height nozzle spraying). Slurry production and any emission from slurry are not included.
Child dataset exchanges scaled from GLO parent dataset based on diesel consumption in Quebec. Created to proxy farm machinery/fieldwork representative of the Quebec context. Data quality indicators adjusted accordingly. Other difference with the parent dataset is the production volume, which now represents the production volume in Quebec.
Diesel consumption is calculated from primary data and models from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) published in 2006 and might be representative of more recent technology than the GLO parent dataset.
[This dataset has been generated using the system model "Allocation, cut-off by classification". A system model describes how activity datasets are linked to form product systems. The allocation cut-off system model subdivides multi-product activities by allocation, based on a physical properties, economic, mass or other properties. By-products of waste treatment processes are cut-off, as are all by-products classified as recyclable. Markets in this model include all activities in proportion to their current production volume.
Version 3 of the ecoinvent database offers three system models to choose from. For more information, please visit: https://www.ecoinvent.org/database/system-models-in-ecoinvent-3/system-…)]
