Description

The feed described in this paper is mainly energy feed, including: corn, wheat, soybean, sorghum, rice. In fact, in the process of livestock breeding, livestock feed is mainly composed of corn, wheat and soybeans. Feed crop planting stage mainly includes fertilizer production stage, corn, soybean, wheat planting stage. Users of this data should take into account the regional characteristics of feed crop production and livestock breeding practices when applying it to life cycle assessments. Variances in technological processes, local climate, and soil conditions can affect the results of the assessment. Therefore, users should ensure to contextualize this data with local conditions and practices. The data set focuses on the years 2014-2015; thus, users must consider any changes that may have occurred since this period. For transparency, when utilizing this data to support environmental impact statements or policy decisions, users should disclose any extrapolations or estimations made beyond the provided period.

Technology

In this paper, the life cycle of livestock and poultry farming is divided into six stages: feed crop planting, feed processing, livestock and poultry raising, manure treatment, slaughter and transportation. The specific life cycle process of livestock and poultry breeding is shown in Figure 2-1. Due to the lack of some data and the limitations of basic conditions, the production, transportation and use of pesticides, mulch and feed additives have not been analyzed, and the environmental impact caused by other related infrastructure construction, transport production and labor costs is no longer considered.
