Description

Livestock and poultry feed processing mainly consumes electricity and coal. Researchers and industry professionals should utilize this data with consideration for its time-specific relevancy reflecting the period 2014-2015. Caution should be taken when extrapolating the data for current or future scenarios due to potential changes in industry standards, technology, and regulations. When using the data in life cycle assessments, ensure alignment with methodological frameworks that accommodate regional variations in livestock farming practices, resource consumption, and environmental impacts. The data set is best employed to benchmark current practices against this historical data to measure improvements or identify areas requiring optimization.

Technology

In this paper, the life cycle of livestock and poultry farming is divided into six stages: feed crop planting, feed processing, livestock and poultry raising, manure treatment, slaughter and transportation. The specific life cycle process of livestock and poultry breeding is shown in Figure 2-1. Due to the lack of some data and the limitations of basic conditions, the production, transportation and use of pesticides, mulch and feed additives have not been analyzed, and the environmental impact caused by other related infrastructure construction, transport production and labor costs is no longer considered.
