Description

The article is based on research data collected from farmers, using the theory of agricultural carbon footprint and life cycle assessment to quantitatively study the carbon footprint and its composition of the rice-wheat rotation system in the downstream area of the Yangtze River. It further analyzes the factors influencing the carbon footprint. Users should apply this data in the context of the life cycle assessment of agricultural crops, considering regional specificities such as Gaotai, Zhangye for more accurate environmental impact evaluations. Caution should be exercised in extrapolating results to different regions or agricultural systems without adjusting for local conditions. The LCA model should also take into account the type of fertilizers and electricity production used, as these are starting points of the system boundary. Assessments should be updated with local data when more recent statistics are available to ensure relevance and accuracy.

Technology

LCA method is used to evaluate the agricultural system of seed corn production, which takes the whole process of product treatment from input to final output as the research object to conduct quantitative analysis and comparison, so as to evaluate the environmental impact of seed corn production [13]. In this paper, the mass of seed corn 1 t is used as the functional unit. The boundary of the system starts from the production of fertilizer and electricity, and ends from the output of agricultural products and pollutants in the crop planting process. In other words, there are two production systems, namely the agricultural material production system and the crop production system
