Plane (cargo) incl. fuel; technology mix, kerosene driven, cargo; production mix, at plant; 65 t payload
The data set covers all relevant process steps / represents the applied technology with a good overall data quality. The inventory is based on industry and literature data. The technical parameters are mainly based on properties of an A330. The data set should be used for LCI/LCA studies where goods have to be transported via airway. The data set allows individual settings of the variable parameters. The following parameters are variable (default setting): (distance 2500km) and sulphur content of kerosene (400 ppm). Default value of the variable parameter has to be checked and adjusted for individual use. The data set does include the fuel supply route for EU-15 kerosene. Plane production and end-of-life treatment are not part of the data set (negligible from a LCA point of view).
Plane for cargo with 65t payload capacity. Variable parameters (with default setting) are: distance (2500 km) and sulphur content of kerosene (400 ppm). Inputs: Cargo. Outputs: Cargo and combustion emissions (carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, nitrogen oxides, NMVOC, sulphur dioxide, dust). Plane production and end-of-life treatment of the plane are not included in the data set.
The background system is addressed as follows: Refinery products: Diesel, gasoline, technical gases, fuel oils, basic oils and residues such as bitumen are modelled via a country-specific, refinery parameterised model. The refinery model represents the current national standard in refinery techniques (e.g. emission level, internal energy consumption,...) as well as the individual country-specific product output spectrum, which can be quite different from country to country. Hence the refinery products used show the individual country-specific use of resources. The supply of crude oil is modelled, again, according to the country-specific crude oil situation with the respective properties of the resources.
