Polymer Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors (PAEC) represented by this data set are commonly used for energy storage in a variety of electronic equipment, ranging from consumer electronics to industrial applications where high capacitance and compactness are required. The aluminum powder derived from the scrap of these capacitors is recycled and utilized in various metallurgical processes or as a material for manufacturing new capacitors. This LCA data set should be applied with the understanding that the reference year of the elementary data is around 2016, and it was acquired from the Gabi database (Version: 10.6.1.35). When using this data, attention should be paid to the technological relevance of the raw materials, and the transportation data should reflect the supply chain from source to end user. For those substances not found in the Gabi database, estimations based on chemically similar reactions from existing raw materials should be applied cautiously. The LCA data, especially regarding the preparation process of dispersive solutions and cathode foil fabrication for PHAECs, should be scaled from lab data judiciously due to the adjustments made from similar processes in PAECs.
