Description

The recycled aluminum ingots produced from old aluminum scrap in the described process are primarily utilized for manufacturing various aluminum products where lower purity aluminum is acceptable. These can include construction materials, automotive parts, packaging materials, and in some cases, alloys. The material's recycled nature often makes it suitable for applications where the environmental impact is a consideration. Before using the LCI data from the Chinese process-based life cycle inventory database (CPLCID), users must ensure that their application scope matches the technological and geographic applicability of the data, that is, aluminum production in China. It is essential to integrate data on energy consumption, import and export of aluminum, and annual production details from relevant updated statistics as used in this study. Users should adapt the data if their process involves importing or exporting outside of China or if their production scale varies significantly from the key enterprises from which the data were derived. If European data are used due to the lack of local data, users should be aware of the potentially different environmental impacts due to regional differences in production processes and environmental regulations.
