Description

Location: GLO - Global
This activity represents the direct emissions to ocean of Cu-based antifouling paint. 2/3 of the dry matter of the active substances present in the paint are assumed to be emitted. Data from analysis of 2 antifouling paints used in Peru
Undefined unit processes (UPRs) are the unlinked, multi-product activity datasets that form the basis for all of the system models available in the ecoinvent database. This is the way the datasets are obtained and entered into the database by the data providers. These activity datasets are useful for investigating the environmental impacts of a specific activity (gate-to-gate), without regard to its upstream or downstream impacts.

Technology

Two samples of common antifouling paints used in Peru, were analysed by the French laboratory UT2A (http://www.univ-pau.fr/ut2a) in 2010. Values are means from the two analyses, and uncertainty data are also based on measured values.
