Description

Location: RLA - Latin America and the Caribbean
This dataset represents the end of life of wooden purse seiners, per 1000 kg of light ship weight, based on data from Peru, corresponding to 10 vessels for which data was avilable with different levels of detail. Specific data for specific inventory items may be based on sub-samples for which detailed data was available. Vessel dimensions, landings and fuel use were available for roughly 689 purse seiners
System boundaries and relation between activities
Undefined unit processes (UPRs) are the unlinked, multi-product activity datasets that form the basis for all of the system models available in the ecoinvent database. This is the way the datasets are obtained and entered into the database by the data providers. These activity datasets are useful for investigating the environmental impacts of a specific activity (gate-to-gate), without regard to its upstream or downstream impacts.

Technology

Peru features various shipyards and relevant ship-building and ship-retrofitting expertise.
